ZWB Consortium PPE Distribution
Zimbabwe Women’s Bureau (ZWB), Restless Development and Hope for Adolescents and Youth are a Harare Spotlight Consortium working in Hop-ley and Epworth with the support from UN Women Zimbabwe under the Spot-light Initiative donated hygiene kits and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to fight against COVID-19 in Hopley & Epworth.
The consortium came together to work towards ending violence against wom-en and girls which has been increas-ingly high during Lockdown.
The consortium works in partnership with four (4) Community Based Organ-izations namely Madanhaashe (MACO) and Shanduko Yehupenyu Child Care (SYCC) in Epworth, Hopley Can Change Initiative (HCCI) and Zivo
Aid Group (ZAG) in Hopley.
The personal protective equipment distribution program was coordinated by community-based organizations to ensure that donations reach to the most vulnerable and marginalised community members in Magada, Sola-ni and Mutsvubvu areas.
On 14 and 18 August 2020 respective-ly, the three organisations distributed various essentials including hand-washing liquid, sanitizers, tapped buckets to schools, churches, clinics, council and Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) for use in their respective insti-tutional facilities and sanitary wear to adolescent girls and young women.
